slides in CSS

[via Joel]: S5: A Simple Standards-Based Slide Show System.

"S5 is a slide show format based entirely on XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. With one file, you can run a complete slide show and have a printer-friendly version as well. The markup used for the slides is very simple, highly semantic, and completely accessible."
Most excellent. I was looking for something like this!

Yes, it looks pretty cool, but since :

"Links from within a slide to another slide will probably fail"

most probably outter links pointing to a specific slide will also fail...

Better code in flash, then !

Yes, that's definitely something that could be improved--But check out the template in the 'Basic Primer' for S5 (at http://www.meyerweb.com/eric/tools/s5/primer.html). Creating a slide show with S5 is extremely simple, so it's good at the very least for quick things, particularly when you don't have a more "serious" tool that can generate an HTML slideshow (e.g., LaTeX).

Anyway, I'm sure a solution can be found for the external-link problem... something to think about! :)
